Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to start the shooting in early 2021. On 5 September 2020, Zachary Levi revealed the fantastic news of Dan Fogler’s 4D Xperience. He shared that they are planning to make a sequel, the team is working on the script, and they are hoping to premiere it in the quarter of next year.
Levi said that despite the ongoing pandemic coronavirus, which has made the shooting schedules unpredictable, they would start the filming as soon as possible. He added that they need to begin quickly; the kids are growing fast. Although the original date to premier the sequel was in April 2020, the date was postponed for COVID-19 to November 2022.
Shazam! is an American superhero movie based on a DC Comics character, distributed by Warner Bros. Picture and produced by New Line Cinema. The plot revolves around Billy Batson, who received various superpowers as the new champion chosen by ancient wizard Shazam. Billy and his friend discover his powers to stop Dr. Thaddeus Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins. The first film did a business of gross $366 million.
Fans are curious to know when they should expect the release of the trailer. To which Sandberg responded in the tweet with a fake title card which reads Shazam! Now the Kids Have Facial Hair. The director of the film David F. Sandberg also has posted a joke trailer on his official Twitter handle, which got a fair number of views. Sandberg wrote they had not shot Shazam 2 yet, but there are reviews of the project on Letterboxd. The first film in the franchise received a very positive response from audiences. The film got 90% approval based on 401 reviews, with an average rating of 7.25/10. The movie weighted average rating of 71 out of 100 based on 53 reviewers on Metacritic. On the platform of CinemaScore, audiences gave an average of “A” on the scale of A+ to F. First news about the sequel of the franchise and second installment was reported on TheWrap in April 2019. And in August 2020, the title of the film was revealed at DC FanDome as Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
With director Sandberg, and actors Zachary Levi in Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy, and Marta Milas as Mama Rosa, Shazam!: Fury of the Gods is scheduled to impress its fans again on 4 November 2022.
