How To Use Burst Mode To Take Photos on Your iPhone

Taking out your camera and clicking pictures anywhere you go is a hobby for a lot of people. It is a social media generation, and everybody likes posting good pictures on their feed to make it look attractive. Have you ever considered experimenting with your iPhone’s camera?

If you explore its settings, you’ll find a lot of modes you can use to capture images, one of which is the ‘Burst Mode.’ This mode captures an image at ten frames per second, which means it is used for a continuous shooting mode.

Burst Mode is an amazing method to get all the actions shot, but it is confusing to find it in the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and newer devices with iOS 14. Below is a guide on using Burst Mode in the newer iPhones.

Capturing QuickTake Photos and Videos

QuickTake is a new and easy method to capture short videos while shooting with your iPhone. It works the same as a camera app on third-part applications like Instagram and Snapchat.

For a short video, press and hold the ‘Shutter’ button to start the recording, and release it to end. To capture a long video, the better way is to drag the ‘Shutter’ button to the right on the padlock. Doing this will keep recording until or unless you tap the stop button. You may also take pictures by tapping on the Shutter button while you record.

To shoot a burst of photos, tap the shutter button, and quickly drag it to the left. Your iPhone will continue to take pictures until you release the same. It is notable that if you take a little longer to swipe it to the left, a video will start capturing.

Set Volume Up to Burst Mode

The volume buttons of your iPhone also work as a QuickTake. Thus, if you tap on the ‘Volume Up’ or ‘Volume Down’ button, a picture is taken. Hold down the button to take a video.

However, you can change the settings and arrange the same so that holding the ‘Volume Up’ button shoots a burst of photos. On the other hand, holding the ‘Volume Down’ button shoots a video. To enable the same, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Launch the Settings app on your iOS device.

  2. Navigate to the ‘Camera’ tab and click on the same.

  3. Turn the slider on for the ‘Use Volume Up for Burst’ option.

Figuring Out Pictures From the Burst

Not all the pictures that get captured in a burst will end up looking good. Therefore, you’ll have to select a few of them. Though your iPhone automatically does the job of keeping up the best pictures, it is advised to still go through them.

That was easy, wasn’t it? A lot of people might be unfamiliar with the Burst Mode on your iPhone. Thus, when you know the trick, you can get some amazing action pictures anytime you see anything exciting.
