Android smartphones come with a lot of handy features, and the users mostly love all the updates. Despite all the features it has to offer, there is no harm in trying out or embracing iOS. It is relatively uncommon to know that an Android user can experience a hassle-free switch to iOS, but one has to make sure that they are using Android 4.0 or later. Using an app called ‘Move to iOS,’ the switching procedure will become quick. Not only that, but all the data you have on the Android OS will also transfer into the new OS you install.
To use iOS, you have to follow the guide given below to ensure an uncomplicated and secure switch between the OS.
But before that, make sure that you install and run the Move to iOS app and then go through the setup process. Also, clean your Android device before going with the whole procedure. Make sure that your device has enough storage to welcome the new OS. Your Android device should be connected to Wi-Fi, and both the devices should be connected to power. Now you can move onto using the guide below:
Prepare your device
After installing Move to iOS, you can begin the setup procedure on your iPhone or iPad. When you reach the Apps and Data window, click on the ‘Move Data from the Android’ option. Your iPhone or iPad will create an exclusive private Wi-Fi network for it and your Android smartphone. You can go ahead with factory-fresh or reset on your iPhone or iPad.
Then on your Android device, open the Move to iOS app and move onto the screen that says ‘Find Your Code.’ Click on the link appearing on your screen and check your iPhone. You’ll find that your iPhone or iPad has created a private Wi-Fi network and an access code for your Android device. You have to use this pairing code on the Move to iOS app. This app will transfer or copy your photos and videos, contacts, messages, Google Accounts, etc. on the iPhone.
What can you transfer?
You can choose to transfer six types of data from your Android device, i.e., contacts, messages, email accounts, camera & data, web bookmarks, and calendar. You’ll be prompted to check or uncheck the boxes for the data you want to transfer. Since you’ll now be an Apple user, you’ll receive recommendations to install an iOS version of the Play Store apps you had on your Android device. Please note that you’ll lose all the local data in the transferring process. The local data might remain on the Android device, but it will not transfer into iOS. You will not get the PDFs, music, and E-book on your Apple device. You have to transfer these things manually.
The transferring procedure is time taking. You will have to wait for several minutes, so make sure that you don’t touch either of these devices and do not interfere in the procedure, or you’ll have to start again.
App Installation
The Move to iOS app might fail to recognize and transfer all the apps from your Android device. So, you’ll have to find a substitute for them in the App Store manually. If you had any paid apps like Spotify, Netflix, etc., you wouldn’t have to pay for these account subscriptions again. But if you had invested in any gaming app on the Play Store, then you’ll have to re-purchase them on the App Store.
This guide will help you throughout the procedure, so you can rely on it entirely. These procedures will remain the same on the iPad as well.
