Do you work with multiple workspaces in Windows 10? Virtual Desktops are a convenient option to switch from one workspace to another. However, it can be difficult to handle for some. In case you’re working with different tabs all at once, it can be irritating to locate and switch between them. It not only takes a lot of time, but it can get you frustrated.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts
You can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly switch between virtual desktops. All you need to do is press the ‘Windows + Ctrl + Left arrow’ keys to move to the bottom virtual desktop. To do the opposite, press the ‘Windows + Ctrl + Right arrow’ keys. In case the virtual desktops are ordered in the direction of the keys, you can jump to the same immediately by using the arrow keys.
The steps to see the available virtual desktops are:
Press the ‘Windows + Tab’ keys on your keyboard.
A ‘Task View’ screen will open, mentioning the thumbnails of all the available virtual desktops.
Use the ‘Tab’ key to highlight one of the thumbnails.
Press the arrow keys to navigate to the virtual desktops and press the ‘Enter’ key.
Finally, the ‘Task View’ window will close, and the virtual desktop you chose to view will open.
If you want a new virtual desktop, press the ‘Windows + Ctrl + D’ keys on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can open the ‘Task View’ window, click on the ‘New Desktop’ option, and press the ‘Enter’ key. A new workspace will appear.
Using the Taskbar
The steps to instantly jump between virtual desktops using the Taskbar are:
Press the ‘Task View’ button on your PC. Else, press the ‘Windows + Tab’ keys.
Select the desktop you want to switch to view.
Note: If the task view button doesn’t appear on the taskbar, right-click on the taskbar. A pop-up menu will open. Select the ‘Show Task View Button’ option.
Using Trackpad Shortcuts
Windows PC has touchpad gestures to switch between virtual desktops. All you have to do is place the four fingers on the trackpad and follow the actions mentioned below:
Swipe Up: To open the Task View
Swipe Left: Switch to the bottom virtual desktop
Swipe Right: Switch to the upper virtual desktop
Swipe Down: To view the current desktop
In case these gestures don’t work, make sure you’ve enabled them in the settings app.
Though the process sounds difficult and complicated, switching between virtual desktops is a handy option when you’ve multiple workplaces.
