Amazon Launches New Cloud Gaming Service Called Luna

Amazon is all set to take on Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud with its own cloud gaming platform Luna. For a long time, there were rumors in the market that Amazon was all set to launch its gaming platform, and now Amazon has finally launched it during its 2020 Hardware event.

However, it’s still not clear when Amazon will launch it widely for everyone. But for now, it is available for early access in the US from today, and all those people who can’t wait to get their hands-on Luna can visit amazon.com/luna/landing-page to enroll themselves in the early access program of Luna and get its access for $5.99 a month.

Initially, Amazon Luna will be available on platforms like Windows, Mac, Android, and even iOS. You can also access Luna using Fire TV. The service will be launching with 100+ games, including games like Resident Evil, Control, GRID, The Surge, etc. Besides this, Amazon has also partnered with Ubisoft (a famous video game company), so you can also expect some fantastic games from Ubisoft on Luna.

The Luna Service is powered by AWS, and all the users can play their favorite games on it in 4K resolution. Besides this, you can also integrate it with Twitch, which means you can see twitch streams in Luna or Play Luna games on Twitch.

You can play games on Luna with your keyboard and mouse or with a Bluetooth controller. However, it’s worth mentioning that Amazon has also launched its own Alexa-enable Luna controller with a price tag of $49.99, and you can use it with Luna to get an amazing gaming experience with it. The controller connects directly to the cloud servers of Amazon and allows its users to quickly switch between screens without configuring it for use with Luna.

For many years Amazon has been trying very hard to make a name for itself in the gaming industry. The company owns one of the most popular streaming services, Twitch, and is also working on many new games that it will release in upcoming days like New World- a multiplayer game that is all set to release in 2021.

Our View

With Luna, Amazon is all set to give a tough competition to other cloud gaming platforms like Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud. Luna is right now available for early access in the US. However, it’s still not clear when Amazon will launch the Luna service internationally. Overall, it appears to be an amazing cloud gaming platform at first look, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. So, if you live in the US, then you can enroll yourself in the early access program of Luna to get your hands on it. However, if you don’t live in the US, then you will have to wait for some more time to get your hands on Luna.

Do you think Amazon will be able to beat Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud with Luna? If yes, then do share your point of view with us in the comments section.
