A Guide of Using Picture-in-Picture Feature in iPhone

Apple rolled out the latest iOS update, iOS 14, recently. This version of iOS has come packed with lots of exciting features. These features are certain to improve the privacy level of your iPhone and certain features are going to enhance your experience of using an iPhone. Picture-in-picture is one such feature that Apple has finally adopted. This feature is going to be useful since it allows you to watch a video while chatting or scrolling through your social media feed or using any other feature of your iPhone. This phone is going to be useful in multitasking and help you save your time. Since it is one of the latest features offered by Apple, it might be a little tricky for you to use this feature. In this article, we are going to tell you how you can enable this interesting picture-in-picture feature and enhance your experience of using your iPhone.

Before you start trying to use the exciting latest picture-in-picture feature, it is notable that right now it is available for built-in TV apps only. You won’t be able to use this feature yet with a browser or a third-party app like YouTube. However, we can expect Apple to improve the usability of this feature in the coming times. Another thing which you should keep in mind that you will not be able to take a screenshot of the full screen if you are running picture-in-picture. If you try to capture a screenshot while watching TV on your phone with the picture-in-picture feature, that part of the screen which is covered with TV will appear grey for the purpose of digital right management.

Since the picture-in-picture feature is by default on iOS 14, it is going to be very easy for you to use this feature. All you have to do is that when you are streaming TV on your phone, you have to leave the TV app and move to any app of your choice. If that app is supporting the picture-in-picture feature, the TV on your screen will resize itself smaller and appear on the top-right corner of the screen of your phone in whatever app you are using. You can drag this smaller screen around and adjust according to your need. You will also be able to resize this window using pinch or expand with two fingers, just like the zooming in and out options. The best part about this feature is that you cannot only watch the video like that but also control the playback. You can pause the video or play it or close the window or return to the app which is playing this video from this little screen only.  You will also be able to swipe the video to the edges of your screen which means that you can only listen to the audio if you don’t want to watch the video. You will also be able to pull the video back the same way.

However, the picture-in-picture feature coming with iOS 14 is really cool and interesting but there might be times when this feature can annoy you since it automatically switches to the picture-in-picture feature once you close a video player app and then covers a lot of space on your screen. Apple has provided you with a very convenient option which lets you decide if you want to keep this feature in automatic mode or manual mode. You can make the picture-in-picture feature optional by visiting the Settings of your phone and switching off the Toggle Start PiP automatically. This setting will allow you to take control of this feature and you will certainly have a better experience of playing videos on the iPhone.

There are various new updates associated with iOS 14. We have elaborated the picture-in-picture feature which you can use according to your need and enhance your experience of using the iPhone.
